Item Description
Provide a school bus for an public Elementary School Class to visit the JCCCNC for a morning of hands-on activities for Children’s Day and then to explore San Francisco's historic Japantown. Due to continued budget cuts for schools and classrooms, there are many schools and classes that are unable to come to the JCCCNC’s FREE* school visits to learn about Children’s Day, Hina Matsuri and Tango no Sekku. With your support, a class will be able to try on a traditional Boy’s Day Armor helmet, create their own koi no bori (carp streamer) or make sakura mochi, a traditional sweet.
*The JCCCNC annually hosts hands-on and educational workshops for over 500 local elementary school children in San Francisco.
Item Special Note
Your support allows the JCCCNC to share Japanese culture and traditions with local school children. The class will be selected based on financial and transportation needs by the JCCCNC.
