During the 2010 World Series season, Torres became the Giants' official starting center fielder and finished the season leading the Giants with 26 stolen bases. Just a few weeks before the playoffs he had to have emergency appendectomy surgery but returned on October 1 and in the 2010 World Series, he hit a home run in Game 3 off Colby Lewis.
