Acupressure on the Hudson offers a wonderful way to help your body to heal itself. Based on centuries’ old wisdom, acupressure points are used to help alleviate pain, reduce anxiety and promote general health and well-being. It is based on a system of Traditional Chinese Medicine in which the whole body works to balance itself.
Acupressure is also a great way to relax (no needles are used). It uses a combination of acupressure massage, Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage) and the donor will teach self help exercises so you can do them at home. She also specializes in working with individuals with chronic health conditions including those who need cancer support.
Item Special Note
Service provided at the Cold Spring Healing Arts in Cold Spring, NY 10516 only.
I am a certified acupressurist and specialize in working with people who have pain, chronic health issues or suffer from every day stress. Acupressure, based on the system of Traditional Chinese Medicine, has been shown to reduce back pain, improve circulation and lymphatic drainage, as well as promote a greater sense of physical and emotional well-being. It also provides great benefits for those recovering from surgery as it assists the body in healing itself. Further, acupressure is a thoroughly relaxing experience; the energy systems in the body are stimulated with gentle finger pressure (no needles are used) and the person is left with a deep sense of relaxation and balance.
My family and I moved to Cold Spring from the San Francisco Bay area where I was trained at the Acupressure Institute of Berkeley. I focused on helping women with cancer in a complementary health clinic where they were treated with a number of modalities including traditional oriental body work, herbs and counseling. I am also a licensed clinical social worker and enjoy combining my expertise in working with the mind, body and spirit.
