Item Description

The editors of The Intelligent Optimist are always surrounded by books. Their office in San Francisco is almost like a library. These books represent a wealth of knowledge that we use for research, inspiration or sourcing new articles in the magazine.

For this auction, our associate editor dove into the book collection to create four packages of the best books around inspiring themes.

Each package consists of four or five books and CDs and two classic theme issues from The Intelligent Optimist (formerly Ode). All four packages have the potential to change your perspective on our world, just like The Intelligent Optimist does. Here are its contents:

2. Social Entrepreneurship

It's not politics that will change our society for the better, it's business. But for that to happen, businesses will need to become social. Read all about it in this package.

The Social Entrepreneur's Handbook: How to Start, Build, and Run a Business That Improves the World, by Rupert Scofield. Find out more

Changing Business from the Inside Out: A Treehugger's Guide to Working in Corporations, by Timothy J. Mohin. Find out more

Big Business, Big Responsibilities: From Villains to Visionaries: How Companies are Tackling the World's Greatest Challenges, by Andy Wales, Matthew Gorman and Dunstan Hope. Find out more
