Item Description

Diana Rico originally developed JumpstART Creative Coaching in
Los Angeles in the 1990s in response to the needs of the many
blocked writers and artists she met. In a safe, nurturing atmosphere
of personal attention and acceptance, she sensitively leads cultural
creatives through cutting-edge exercises that quiet the critical inner
voice, strengthen self-compassion, and gently open the wellsprings of
artistic inspiration. The result? Artists come away with tools they can use at any
time to dissolve obstacles, focus their creative energies, and turn their
artistic dreams into realities. More deeply, they begin to transform fear
into self-love.

Diana Rico is a critically acclaimed author, journalist, editor, and
documentary producer-writer. Her articles on the arts and spiritual/social
issues have appeared in ARTnews, Elle, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, and many
other publications, and she has been the Art/Architecture Writer for the Los
Angeles Daily News and the Art Critic for National Public Radio station KCRW
in Los Angeles. Her book Kovacsland: A Biography of Ernie Kovacs, about
the 1950s comedy pioneer whose work influenced Letterman, Shandling, and
Saturday Night Live, landed her interviews with Charlie Rose and Larry King.
As a Senior Producer-Writer for E! Entertainment Television, she has created E!
True Hollywood Stories on such artists as John Lennon, Jane Fonda, Richard
Pryor, and Alfred Hitchcock. Rico’s television documentaries have aired in 70
million U.S. homes and 140 million internationally. She has received grants and
fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Wurlitzer Foundation,
the National Association of Latino Independent Producers, and numerous other
organizations. And she writes for The Intelligent Optimist (formerly Ode):
