Item Description
Aurora Waldorf School eighth graders are required to construct a 3 Legged Wooden Stool prior to graduation. For the first time ever, Aurora Waldorf School's beloved woodwork teacher, Karen Lux, is opening the woodshop to adult learners. She will take participants through the steps to make a stool just as she does with the school's grade eight students. This stool is constructed of a 12" hardwood seat, with legs formed from green white ash trunks (due to the emergence of the ash bore this may be the final set of stools that will be made with white ash).
Instructor: Karen Lux has been a part of Aurora Waldorf School in many different capacities since 1996 , most recently as our Woodworking and Practical Arts program teacher and Summer Camp Director. She completed her Waldorf training at Sunbridge College. Growing up in farm country, Karen developed a strong work ethic and a healthy sense of community responsibility. She has always loved gardening and handcrafts and finds it rewarding helping others learn to develop their abilities.
