Item Description
Aurora Waldorf School Eighth Grade students are required to complete the construction of a pair of flannel pajamas with a botton-front top and drawstring bottoms prior to graduation. Adults will have the unique opportunity to learn the art of customizing a pattern and building a pair of pajamas from the AWS Pajama Pattern under the wise tutelage of our beloved handwork master, Lisa Carrow. Lisa Carrow has been teaching handwork classes at Aurora Waldorf School for over 15 years, and has been sewing for herself and others for over 30 years. She completed the Applied Arts Program at Sunbridge College and had the honor of teaching the complete Handwork Curriculum to Waldorf Class and Handwork Teachers at The West Coast Institute, Vancouver Island the summer of 2010. That being said she attributes her true skills to her home life growing up on a farm in rural Southern Ontario. She honed her capabilities at the knee of her farming Grandmothers and Mother who all were consummate homemakers and farmers wives - multi-talented, hard workers. Lisa takes great joy in working with students, and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge with adults in the community.
