Item Description

A rare opportunity for your group of up to 20 people to visit the this historic gem, normally only accessible to much larger organized group camps.

Secluded among the forested hills east of Mendocino, this National Historic Landmark is a virgin redwood and stone work of art built by the WPA and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s. Then called the Mendocino Woodlands Recreation Demonstration Area, it was one of forty-six campgrounds (including Camp David) created during that time, conceived to provide a setting for activities that would introduce the public to the wonders of nature. The Mendocino Woodlands is one the few that remain, and the only one to have both maintained its historic integrity and to have been continuously used for its original purpose. It was given to the people of California with the mandate that the facility be used for group and family recreation and environmental education.

Prize includes transportation from the village of Mendocino for up to 20 people aboard the Mendocino Woodlands bus, a gourmet lunch prepared and served in one of the historic dining halls by the resident chef, and personalized tours to match your ability and needs. Family, friends, business associates, your club or church group; any 20 people you choose! Don't miss this rare chance to experience a national treasure in the redwoods east of Mendocino!
