It is done! We have finally finished the new CD, 'Come On Home' and it will be officially available on August 21st - yay! I am really excited about this one (and not just because it has taken so long to get it together). The songs are some of the best that we have come up with - thank you Terry Wilson who wrote or co-wrote most of them and who painstakingly produced the CD - and we've got some of the best players around on it, too. Of course we have Billy Watts on guitar and vocals (one of the best guitar players ever who should also be much more well known but then we wouldn't ever be able to afford him - thank you Billy); the lovely Ms. Debra Dobkin lent us her considerable talents on percussion and background vocals; Jerry Peterson is all over the CD with his soulful sax; and on drums we have the best of the best: Jim Christie, Herman Matthews, and Tony Braunagel (Google them!). But wait, there's more... we've also got some special sit-in guests we're thrilled about: from New Orleans, the ever so funky Jon Cleary on piano; the amazing Mike Finnigan back on B-3 (he's played on several of our CDs but this time we get to sing a duet together); Lee Thornburg once again has lent us his considerable talents on trumpet and his superb horn arrangements, Leslie Smith joins us with his beautiful vocals, and, we are very excited to have the killer horn section from Mingo Fishtrap joining us on a track too. We even got the infamous David P. Jackson on accordion on one cut! And to top it all off, we were lucky enough to have the amazing Mr. John Porter mix it!! I really think that it is one of the best things that we have done and I can't wait for you to hear it!
