Item Description
Luxury Swiss watchmaker Breitling designed a special timepiece in celebration of the 100th anniversary of naval aviation - the Naval Centennial Limited Edition Airwolf. EAA is fortunate to have one of the only remaining commemorative watches available for public purchase, donated to support Young Eagles by Breitling. Only 500 were produced! The first piece produced made a special journey around the globe with naval aviators throughout 2011. The timepiece’s travels were documented and logged for a special presentation at the Naval Centennial ceremony in December, 2011. The Limited Edition Airwolf was officially unveiled in January 2011 at the grand opening of Breitling’s flagship boutique in Manhattan. A favorite of aviation professionals, the commemorative Airwolf features functions utilized by pilots: 1/100th of a second chronograph with split times, alarm, countdown, 2nd timezone with independent alarm, UTC and perpetual calendar. The NVG-compatible display backlighting system enables night-time read-off and a turbine-shaped caseback serves as a resonance chamber for the alarm.
