What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture stimulates the body’s innate ability to heal itself to bring about positive change and health.
Chinese Medicine holds that all problems arise from disharmony, and acupuncture is a system of medicine that brings the body into balance. To accomplish this we use fine, virtually painless needle insertion at carefully chosen points. How do we determine these points? Based on thousands of years of empirical observation and clinical success, passed down and improved upon from generation to generation.
What can Acupuncture do for you?
Acupuncture is well known for the treatment of pain, but it is also a powerful medicine for the treatment of many acute and chronic diseases. The World Health Organization compiled a partial list of diseases treatable by acupuncture (found here). What many people do not realize is that Chinese Medicine recognizes the inseparability of the body and mind, and treats both, making it uniquely suited to address both physical and mental issues. And finally, because we are harnessing and balancing your own energy, most of my patients experience improvement in areas they did not expect, such as improved sleep, elevated mood, and increased energy – or even an old condition they did not think was related to their current one!
