Preakness Hills Country Club offers a round of 18 holes for four golfers including golf carts. Certificate expires Dec. 31, 2013 Attire: No denim, must have collared shirts, no cargo shorts. Soft spikes required. Dates will be at the discretion of the head golf professional, according to club schedule Preakness Hills Country Club offers warm and welcoming exclusivity. We serve a very discerning membership of approximately 240 members and experience just 12,000 rounds a golf per year. Our challenging private golf course is a true test for players of all abilities. Our facilities include our newly restored, expertly maintained championship 18-hole golf course, new short game practice area and driving range. Preakness Hills is set on moderately hilly terrain with tight, tree-lined fairways. Water comes into play on seven holes. Greens are on the large side and individually shaped; many pitch from back to front. The course is best known for its par 3s. Six is the centerpiece, extremely narrow, 224 yards long, with a row of tall trees overhanging the right side, out-of-bounds and a creek bed in their shadows. The putting surface is punctuated by a "burial mound" center rear. The home hole is a par three, which plays across a pond to a two-tiered, back-to-front green bunkered once left and a horseshoe bunker extending from the back to the right side. The putting surface is set in a natural amphitheater in front of the clubhouse. Preakness Hills recently lengthened the course and now it plays from the back tees at just under 6,800 yards, carrying a slope of 134. The challenge at Preakness Hills isn't necessarily it's length but it's demand for accuracy on all strokes. The greens have subtle breaks that are not always obvious to most golfers.
