Item Description

This 15 inch x 11" Czech porcelain platter was fired in the U.K. and is dishwasher, microwave, oven and freezer safe. Artist Richard Bramble's artwork is accompanied by text that reads: "‘Panulirus argus’  Spiny lobster (crawfish, langouste, rock lobster, crayfish) live in crevices venturing out at night feeding mostly on crustaceans.  They produce rasping sounds, waving their long antennae to scare predators.  Large groups migrate together in long file across the sea floor."

Item Special Note

From a tiny red cabin nestled in amongst cypress trees and a timeless pond, a family dreamed up the idea to capture America's most pristine treasures through art and porcelains.  Hence, Red Cabin was born.  Our ceramics are manufactured by Jersey Pottery on the small Island of Jersey off the coast of France using the finest Czech porcelains.  By traveling from the rugged outback of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range in California to the sea side villages of Massachusetts, Mr. Bramble observed the species painted in their natural environment, enabling him to capture the unique beauty only seen by personal encounters.

The choice of quality found in Mr. Bramble’s art and Jersey Pottery’s ceramics was intentional, and has led to a practical ceramic that expresses the level of responsibility we have to artisans, honest business owners, and fair trade practices.
