These flies feature some of John’s most unique fly tying components that you’ll be hard-pressed to find replicated anywhere else—parachute posts made from seat belt fibers, 90 degree bent hook shanks that increase hook-ups, and Razor Foam. These 24 flies are an assortment of caddis, mayfly, and midges, as well as a few emerger patterns, ranging from hook sizes 16-20.
If you believe the seasoned anglers who fish these flies and can attest to their effectiveness, they all will catch you fish—especially the patterns featuring the vertically-bent hook shank—on Wisconsin’s spring creeks, or trout streams just about anywhere. Packaged in fly “matchbooks,” allowing for easy transport on the stream, or giving as gifts.
