Item Description
Case of assorted beer including Boston Lager, Harvest Pumpkin, Dunkelweizen, Latitude 48 IPA, Hazel Brown and Octoberfest.
Six weeks after Jim Koch started the business, Samuel Adams Boston Lager won the "Best Beer in America" award at the Great American Beer Festival. It was quite a feat. No one had heard of the beer and the company had only three people. Today, Boston Lager continues to win awards all over the world. Times may have changed but the beer remains the same.
A perennial favorite at Sam's brewery Halloween party, Harvest Pumpkin Ale is brewed with over 17 pounds of real pumpkin per barrel, adding a full body and sweetness to this dark reddish amber brew. Deep roasted malts, including a smoked malt, lend a distinct roasted character while traditional pumpkin pie spices give the beer a subtle spice note.
Dunkelweizen, literally translated as “dark wheat” beer, is a darker version of the traditional Bavarian wheat beers dating back to the 15th century. Dark amber-brown in color, this brew is coarse filtered, leaving a notable haze and offering a dense, white rocky head. The result is a beer that, although quite complex and flavorful, is medium in body, with a crisp finish.
Latitude 48 IPA is a unique IPA brewed with a select blend of hops from top German, English, and American growing regions all located close to the 48th latitude within the “hop belt” of the Northern Hemisphere. The combination of hops in this beer creates a distinctive but not overpowering hop character. The beer is dry hopped with Ahtanum, Simcoe, and East Kent Goldings hops for a powerful citrus and earthy aroma. The hop character is balanced by a slight sweetness and full body from the malt blend.
A flavorful nut brown ale, Hazel Brown was brewed in honor of the fall hazelnut harvest. Its distinct hazelnut aroma and taste are accentuated by slightly sweet caramel and toffee malt notes. Medium in body, it finishes smooth with an underlying spiciness from the hops making it a great choice for fall.
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Octoberfesthas a rich, deep reddish amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Five malt roasts are blended together to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The malt is complimented by the elegant bitterness imparted by the Bavarian Noble hops. This beer provides a wonderful transition from the lighter summer beers to the heartier brews of winter.
