Item Description

Zenkichi invites you to explore Japanese cuisine beyond sushi and yakitori. Their specialty is Tokyo-style seasonal small plates, for sharing and pairing with sake. Savor the dishes popular among Tokyoites, and enjoy the harmony of subtle & bold flavors.

The most emphasis is placed on the Omakase (chef’s tasting menu), which changes every 5 weeks to showcase the best domestic and imported fish and vegetables of the season. Small plate a la carte menu is also available and changes every 3 months.

Sake is their passion and they serve only the best. At Zenkichi, they specialize in Junmai (pure-rice), all-natural premium sakes made exclusively with rice, water and koji (rice yeast), completely free of additives. You will taste the difference!

They offer an extensive selection of premium sake from many regions of Japan – from popular, seasonal, to rare and limited production bottles.

Zagat Survey 2012]  F:26 D: 27 S:25“Exceptional” Japanese small plats await at this sushi-free Williamsburg izakaya, a “Zen”, “mazelike” triplex where “private booth”, “stone walkways” and muted lights set the stage for “romantic” tete-a-tetes”.

[Michelin Guide 2012] The menu features an assortment of Tokyo-style small plates. Set your own course or choose the well-priced omakase: an eight-course seasonal feast. Start off with some sake and oysters at adjacent Bar Akariba.Return visit are inevitable – just remember to reserve.
