Bidding is for a fourteen-night stay in a luxury home on Maui’s west coast town of Kihei for up to eight people. (*See availability below.)

This is a family getaway in paradise; surrender to the sounds of waves, fresh ocean air, warm waters, and the breathtaking natural beauty that is Hawaii.

This beautiful four-bedroom home is in Kihei, a local paradise on the island of Maui. Located on the western shore of the island, the climate is arid and receives less than ten inches of rain per year. The home is located in a quiet residential area called Pacific Terrace. With over 2,800 square feet, the house offers all the comforts of home in paradise. Accomodations comfortably sleep eight. Features include a swimming pool, a fully equipped kitchen, a lanai with ocean views, and air conditioning.

Enjoy the benefits of the kitchen in this comfortable home, or access tthe numerous restaurants in Kihei, and the other communities on the island of Maui. Nearby restaurants include 808 Bistro, Café O’Lei, Maui Tacos, and Kaiso Sushi, and Moose Restaurant. Be sure to watch the beautiful sunsets from any of the local restaurants on the beach. You may experience local delicacies, as well as international cuisines throughout the island.

Kamaole Beach Park II is only ten blocks away, a short ride by car. Or enjoy a leisurely walk and in fifteen minutes, you will be on the beach. Beachside activities include swimming, tanning, and snorkeling. Kamaole Beach Park II or Kam II as the locals say is one of the many beautiful beaches on the island of Maui.

Tranquil Kihei also offers numerous activities. If you choose not to sleep late, you can begin your day with a yoga class on the beach. After breakfast, you have the option to take advantage of numerous island excursions.

In Kihei, the Sanctuary Education Center is a premier location to learn about the Humpback whales and if you are lucky, see one of the beautiful animals that live around the Hawaiian Islands. As well as whale watching, you have the option of golfing at the beautiful Makena golf course or riding horses at the Makena Stables.

Only a short drive from Kihei, you will find other activities and adventures, suitable for all ages. Being centrally located, you can easily take advantage of a visit to the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, a scuba diving trip, or a visit to the Haleakala and Kukui volcanoes.

*Not available during the months of July and August 2013. Reservations are based on availability, to be arranged by mutual agreement between the winner and the donor. Limited to non-smoking guests.

Absentee bidding.

Absentee bidding is available by contacting the Glaucoma Research Foundation office before January 28th, 2013 at 5 PM PST. All bids should state the highest bid price you or another bidder is willing to pay. A personal representative will be assigned to assist you the evening of the Silent Auction, and will try to bid just as you would, with the goal of obtaining the item at the lowest bid price possible. Absentee bids shall be in competition with all other auction bidding. Auction winner is responsible for shipping and handling fees, which will be added to the winning bid amount. A certificate to redeem this item will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail and billed at standard industry rates. Redeem before January 31, 2014
