About Morton's
Steak is what Morton's Does Best! Since day one, Morton's has used the same suppliers for aged prime beef and other meat. They select the best of their inventory for us–and if it doesn't meet Morton's standards, it doesn't get cut for our steaks. When they say that we offer "The Best Steak...Anywhere," they mean it!
What does "Prime" mean? "Prime" is the highest quality grade designation from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in terms of tenderness, juiciness and flavor. Less than 2 percent of the nation's beef supply earns the designation of "Prime" beef. The Prime Beef at Morton's is aged for 23-28 days and arrives fresh ready for the ultimate dining experience!
Since opening in 1978, Morton's celebrates seasonal ingredients with the highest quality beef in a fining dining atmosphhere. Earthy and satisfying offerings allow diners to bask in the culinary delights of this exquisite restaurant.
Located just a block from Union Square, Morton's is convenient to both shopping and theater. The setting features an Old-World atmosphere, creating a comfortable yet elegant ambiance.
About ACT
This season, among the Conservatory's offerings, are 4000 Miles, Dead Metaphor, Stuck Elevator, Black Watch, Acadia, and of course each December there is a grand production of Dickens's A Christmas Carol.
The Geary Street Theatre now known as American Conservatory Theatre was designed by Bliss and Faville, one of the most prominent architectural firms in San Francisco. Walter D. Bliss and William B. Faville are known for their designs of other San Francisco landmarks, such as the St. Francis Hotel (1904) and the Bank of California (1908). Over the past hundred years, the theater has housed productions featuring many of the legendary figures of 20th-century American drama, including George Arliss, Edward G. Robinson, Basil Rathbone, Frederic March, Ethel and Lionel Barrymore, Ina Claire, Paul Muni, Ethel Waters, Boris Karloff, Paul Robeson, Alfred Lunt, Lynne Fontanne, Katherine Cornell, Cornelia Otis Skinner, Laurence Olivier, and Judith Anderson. In January 1967, the theater became the permanent home of American Conservatory Theatre. In 1975, the theater was awarded a place on the U.S. Department of the Interior's National Register of Historic Places and was named a landmark of the State of California and the City and County of San Francisco.
