Sondra was trained as a Social Scientist and worked all over the world focusing on low-income intervention programs for women and children. While in Africa in the Peace Corps she began sketching, and after returning to the States she studied art in New York, Connecticut, Colorado and Italy. Sondra moved to California seven years ago and began her work and study with the Pacific Art League.
Besides landscapes, portraits and the female form, she also works with a plastic-like technique she developed years ago. The work shown here is oil on canvas.
Sondra has had individual and group shows, and is in private collections across the United States. One is owned by President Clinton and was hung in the Clinton White House. She has received numerous awards including 1st place in a Juried Exhibition at the Flynn Gallery in Greenwich CT. The judge was Clare Bell, former curator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
