Andre Agassi Foundation

The Andre Agassi Foundation for Educationis an educational organization dedicated to transforming U.S. public education for underserved youth. The Foundation drives reform by engaging in practice, policy and partnerships that provide quality education and enrichment opportunities. They put these beliefs into practice at Agassi Prep by closing the gap between the low level of funding the state of Nevada provides and the appropriate level of funding that is required to deliver a quality education. By applying passion and discipline to their work they create an environment in which children can excel.

The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education has received support from many notable celebrities includingElton JohnKatie Couric and David Foster.

About the Artist

In the past, South African artist John Meyer has dabbled in landscape and portraiture, but his most recent work has been in narrative art. These newest pieces are moody and cinematic; they immediately immerse the viewer in a fabricated world that reflects our own.

Meyer studied at the Johannesburg Technical College School of Art and worked in advertising and as a freelance illustrator before he began to paint professionally in the early 1970s. Since that time, he has gained an international reputation.

Meyer was chosen to paint the portraits of such notable figures as Nobel Peace Prize winners Nelson Mandela and F.W. de Klerk and the pianist Vladimir Horowitz and has has also exhibited widely through the United States, Europe, and South Africa.
