About David Wesley

Born in Texas in 1970, David Wesley is known for his remarkable career in professional basketball. Throughout high school and college, Wesley played basketball and he signed as an undrafted free agent with the New Jersey Nets. Many wonder that despite his talent he wasn't drafted immediately out of school. As it turns out, most scouts thought that at 6'1" Wesley was too small to play shooting guard, his position during his amateur career, in the NBA. However, after he played with the New Jersey Nets,Wesley continued to play as shooting guard with the Boston Celtics, the Charlotte/New Orleans Hornets, the Houston Rockets, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He has also renowned for his strength as a man-to-man defender and as a reliable outside shooter. Before retiring from professional basketball in 2007,Wesley was named the Most Valuable Player by the Southwest Conference and he was a member of the Cavaliers when they won the NBA Eastern Conference Championship.
