The UCLA Family Commons specializes in an individualized program that takes into account each student’s unique temperament, strengths, and areas for growth. Their innovative, science-based approach reflects current research on what children need to create a strong foundation for the future. Students benefit from small classes and the latest scientific knowledge about child development. The UCLA Family Commons offers an American style of martial arts that blends Kenpo Karate, Jiujitsu, Western Boxing, Muay Tai, and and Shotokan Karate. The curriculum incorporates traditional techniques and the popular "new tradition" of mixed martial arts – all in a positive atmosphere that encourages effort, rewards determination and celebrates personal accomplishment.
