Item Description

Torben was born in Cambridge, Mass. Went to high school in Portland, Maine, and graduated from New England College (Henniker, N.H.) with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. He has lived and worked in Maine, California, and Seattle, Wash. He has been in this area for the last 12 years and has worked at the Cedar Valley Humane Society ( 3 years) and Marion Post Office. He has had a strong interest in zoology, specifically reptiles, through out his life and has been on several research expiditions to Venezuela and the Carribean. When he arrived in Iowa and married Dr. Doll, they expanded Witty Kitties to include exotics (mostly reptiles) and other animals that could not be adequately cared for housed at the local shelters. Today he accompanies some of these animals on trips to local libraries, schools, and other sites to educate and inform people about these wonderful "critters". His daughter Kirsten is often his assistant on these trips.
