Item Description

Explore New Mexico’s Pristine Wilderness…Without the Burden of a Heavy Pack! Join Wild Earth Llama Adventures for a fun and educational day trip for two, in northern New Mexico’s Sangre de Cristo Mountains or Rio Grande Gorge.

On the trail, gentle and surefooted llamas carry your gear, leaving you free to enjoy the beauty and wonder of the New Mexico wilderness. Lead a llama, as your personal hiking buddy, and you’ll learn why these incredible animals are the perfect, “low-impact” pack animal, and have found a new home in the North American backcountry.

Experienced Naturalist Guides enhance the experience with an extensive knowledge of native plants and wildlife, local ecology, natural history, geology, wilderness skills, edible and medicinal plants, ancient cultures and more!

After an inspiring and educational hike through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Southwest, a sumptuous gourmet lunch will be prepared and served in a scenic wilderness location. Whether you are an experienced hiker or a self-proclaimed couch potato, Wild Earth’s friendly staff and “llovable” llamas will help you create a unique and memorable outdoor adventure! All ages and fitness levels welcome.

They were involved in the successful campaigns to permanently protect the Valle Vidal, and the Ojitos Wilderness; and are currently working to elevate the Columbine-Hondo WSA, in the Taos area, to full wilderness designation; and to establish the proposed 235,000 acre Rio Grande del Norte National Conservation Area, that would protect the Rio Grande Corridor, from the Colorado border to Pilar, NM.
