LIMITED RELEASE Casa Lapostolle Clos Apalta 2009 3L - Limited Release (96 pts by Wine Spectator Magazine)
Clos Apalta is the ultimate expression of Lapostolle’s dedication to quality, made from the best grapes from the Apalta vineyard in the famous Colchagua Valley in Chile. This wine is a blend of Carmenère, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from 60-to 100-year-old pre-phylloxera vines. Clos Apalta is hand destemmed and produced in a state-of-the-art gravity-fed winery. With limited production, the wine is unfined and unfiltered. Lapostolle has ranked Clos Apalta in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines four times in the last 8 years. In 2008, the brand received two of the industry’s highest awards, as its top cuvée Clos Apalta 2005 was recognized as the #1 Wine in the World by Wine Spectator in a blind tasting of over 20,000 wines and Wine Enthusiast named Lapostolle the “New World Winery of the Year,” Clos Apalta is the first Chilean wine ever to receive the coveted top spot on the WS list.
