Item Description
School of Rock in Eden Prairie inspires kids to rock on stage and in life. And here's where they start - Rock101.
In Rock101, students will master the basics while playing actual rock music, as a precursor to jumping into live shows. Your music-lover will learn the basics of technique and music theory, understand the dynamics of playing in a group, receive a weekly private music lesson in guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, drums, and/or vocals, AND attend a 1 1/2 hour weekly group rehearsal.
All School of Rock Performance Students begin in Rock101, and graduation is based on the student's ability and comfort. A teen who has been playing an instrument for a year or more may only be in Rock101 for a week, while a young student who has never played an instrument before may participate in Rock101 for a year.
Your kids learn music best when it's music they WANT to learn. Kids will learn to play fun, passionate, inspiring music through performance; they'll learn teamwork and problem solving as they put on shows; they'll explore multiple styles of music; and they'll also learn theory along the way. Each student moves at their own pace, guided by teachers who are professional musicians.
Whether your child has just picked up an instrument - like a guitar, keyboard, drums, or a microphone - or has been rocking out for years, they'll have a blast at School of Rock and meet a bunch of other kids with the same passion and love of music.
Check out the upcoming AC/DC Pink Floyd show at School of Rock. Some of the best and brightest may become part of the All-Stars that tour and perform at gigs such as Lalapalooza in Chicago.
This certificate is good for one month of the Rock101 Program (ages 7 - 18).
