Harlequin
Dorothea is Professor of Art at Northern Illinois University School of Art in DeKalb, IL. She is a nationally acclaimed artist in printing, printmaking and drawing. She received her BFA in painting from Illinois Wesleyan University, and her MFA in painting from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
She states that she chose the Harlequin because it provides comedy, pantomime and theater. Children create dreams and enjoy fictional and imaginary characters.
