Leslie Oberdorfer has close ties to Georgetown Day School as both the parent of an alumna and current grandparent. She is also a talented painter, and now you can bid on Abstraction, her 8 x 10-inch painting. From Leslie's website: Leslie Oberdorfers paintings exhibit an abundant use of color, ranging from brilliant hues to softly modeled warm tones. She moves easily between abstract and representational images and uses traditional materials including oil, pastel, acrylic, and charcoal, often combining them to create rich texture within her work. She probes the physical nature of her subject to also reveal its emotional content. Oberdorfer continues to investigate common shapes shared by the human figure and other natural forms. She interprets and manipulates the objects and space in her compositions to reflect her personal imagination, producing dynamic paintings. Oberdorfers paintings have been exhibited in Washington, DC, Louisiana, Maryland, and Virginia. Her work hangs in personal collections throughout the country.
