This item is for two Best Available "A-price" tickets to see wind quintet Imani Winds on May 2, 2013 at 7:30pm at Hannaford Hall.
More than North America’s premier wind quintet, Imani Winds is one of the most successful chamber music ensembles in the U.S. Their innovative programs and commitment to commissioning new works are evident in their Portland Ovations debut, which will include Carlos Franzetti’s Serenata; Jason Moran’s Cane, commissioned by the quintet; Henri Tomasi’s Cinq Danses; and special arrangements for the quintet of Claude Debussy’s Bruyere and Igor Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. “Of all the tools in the arsenal that the Imani Winds quintet wields so skillfully, perhaps the two most powerful are its ability to get into the heart of each piece’s cultural core and to communicate the joy of making music together.” (The Washington Post)
