About the Artist: Alex Leader is a glassblower living and working in Northern California. Raised in Trenton, New Jersey, Alex was introduced to glassblowing while attending Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire. In 1993, Alex began working at Belle Mead Hot Glass, a production glass studio. “In the four years that I was employed at Belle Mead, I had gathered glass a staggering amount of times. It was the nuts and bolts of my glassblowing education.”
In August of 1997 Alex, his partner Lillian, their one year old son Che, and Lillian’s young cousin Bianca traveled across the United States to Sonoma, California where Alex was employed at Bacchus Glass. Since being in California Alex has worked with numerous glass artists. “The studio movement in the Bay Area has been an amazing influence on my life and my work. I am happy to be a part of a great tradition that will carry into the future.”

On display in the Main Hall at Woodland Star Charter School.
