About Michelle Y Williams:
Michelle Williams was born in Houston Texas in 1968. As her mother was a fashion designer and her father a sculptor, Michelle was always surrounded by art. From 1994 to 1996, Michelle directed Perimeter Gallery, a contemporary gallery located in Houston, Texas, which focused on exhibiting international artists. After selling the gallery, Michelle decided to develop her talent as a modern painter.
Michelle's abstract paintings are both selective and indiscriminate. After the initial inspiration "sparks the beginnig of a painting, the piece generally takes on a vision of its own." She says in regard to her process, "a relationship develops between the piece and myself, occasionally conflicts must be overcome-art imitates life."
Working on canvas, metal, Plexiglas and wood, she paints exclusively with a palette knife and utilizes an array of materials including acrylic, oils, sand, and other raw materials. The ultimate intention in Micelle's work is to evoke an emotional response. A stong feeling of any kind, Michelle observes, "indicates passion, and with passion we are able to live life tot he fullest.
Michelle shows her work at numerous galleries across the United States and has a broad and distinguished client base for her works.
