Item Description
The platinum photograph is known to be the most archival way to produce a photographic print. Platinum metal salts are hand coated, and photographically etched into watercolor paper. The platinotype is made to last five hundred to one thousand years.
This individual intaglio engraving from Dr. Gary Auerbach's portfolio "We Walk in Beauty" captures a moment of sunlight and reflection for 92-year-old Teresino Jiron of the Tiwa - Taos Pueblo. The original platinum photograph is currently displayed at the Smithsonian.
