Item Description
A striking combination of six round and flat Kazuri beads, interspersed with white pearls. The ensemble is completed by a modern Kazuri rectangular pendant.
The Kazuri beads have a high gloss bronze color. The two middle beads on the necklace feature black spots, no doubt inspired by native leopards. A pair of round earrings set in silver complete this superb and elegant piece of jewelry.
Kazuri, which means small and beautiful in Swahili, began in 1975 as a small workshop making ceramic beads. It is located on what used to be part of the Karen Blixen estate in Kenya. Kazuri is a member of The World Fair Trade Organization, and its mission is to provide and sustain employment for disadvantaged members, particularly women, of Kenyan society.
