Item Description
Ahoy! Step aboard the Kalmar Nyckel, one of America’s pioneering colonial ships with a history that rivals the Mayflower’s!
You and a friend can experience a thrilling 3-1/2 hour sail aboard this 17th century Dutch vessel. Her soaring rigging, operational cannon, and exquisite carvings are exciting for all to explore. No sailing skills are required, but passengers are encouraged to participate in the operation of the vessel, including hoisting and trimming the sails. Souvenirs, snacks, and beverages are available on board for purchase.
Item Special Note
The Kalmar Nyckel sailed from Sweden to the colonies in 1638, leaving its passengers to establish the first European settlement in the Delaware Valley. Today the rebuilt tall ship serves as Delaware’s seagoing goodwill ambassador. This beautiful vessel provides a unique educational venue for all ages with a variety of land and sea experiences.
