This sterling ring, the Sakura Hai, was made in tribute to the centennial celebratino of the gift of trees. It was created with the next 100 years of the Japanese - American friendship in mind.
The main design element of the ring is a ceremonial drinking cup called "Hai". It is used in Japanese rituals as a proof of commitment. the hai, surrounded by cherry blossoms, represents the Festival's message of unity.
This artwork, made in collaboration between Japanese and American jewelers, is hand engraved with the artists' mark and serial number as proof of authenticity.
