Item Description
This is a sheet of what are known as "cinderella stamps" (that is, an item that looks like a stamp, but wasn't issued for use as postage) from Australia, an unusual item that will be a great addition to a stamp collection or a conversation piece!
The stamps are purple and white. At the top of the stamp is "Price Threepence." In the center of the stamp is a lantern giving off rays of light. The four largest rays form an "X" pattern, and the rays are labeled: "Association," "For", "Advancement," "of the Blind".
Below the lantern reads "Homes & Help for the Aged Blind. Send donations to -- 10 Queen Street, Melbourne. CI."
