'Jitterbug Swing!' - Mrs. Thaut / 1st Grade
- Item Number
- 1000
Item Description
Inspired by the classic dance of the 1930s, Ms. Thaut’s 1st graders put on their dancing shoes and took inspiration for this spectacular piece from the Lindy Hop. These jazzy artists watched Lindy Hop videos and listened to classic swing music of the era to help understand and inform the movement found in the figures they created. Using parchment paper, water color paper, oil pastels, rubber cement and water color paints in a multi part process of drawing, painting and transfer, they achieved moves never seen before. And the spectacular choreography of the piece really swings! So get your groove on and take home this one of a kind Lindy Hop extravaganza tonight!
