Bring along 2 friends for a pasta making class. Class lasts 3 hours...in Chef Karen Calabro's private kitchen.
Karen worked for 25 years as a chef before retiring to go back to school and now to medical school (next year!). She trained / apprenticed under 5 master chefs in the Bay Area and high Sierras, California: Provence,France; Lombardy, Italy; Sicily, Italy, Hong Kong & Vietnamese; and Mexican. Her resume included The Omni Parkerhouse, Boston, The Sheraton Grande (Now a Hilton) Torrey Pines, La Jolla, CA, and C'est Bon and Il Fornaio, San Jose, CA.
Her specialties are numerous, but she finds herself dabbling in every ethnic food on Earth, as long as it involves locally grown produce & products (her own 1000 sf organic garden). She admires sustainable food sources and does her part to encourage farm-to-table initiatives, having used both the Lull and Brookdale farms to supplement her restaurants / establishments in the Boston area. As a busy student, mom, and wife, she finds simple dishes most frequently on her table, and can show you oodles of tricks to make your weekly schedule easier, yet still enjoy great healthy meals.
