Item Description

Released in February 2008 this hardback book with dust jacket, Drawings of Nicolai Fechin by Russian scholar Galina Tuluzakova, was published in December of 2007.  The book contains 153 pages with beautiful reproductions of Fechin's art on nearly every page.

The book comes with a Family Membership to The Taos Art Museum at Fechin House so that you can see Nicolai Fechin's art in person in the context of the magnificent group of artists in this remarkable collection in Nicholai Fechin's former home.

The Taos Art Museum for Artists and Their Patrons formally opened in the Nicolai Fechin house in 2003. The mission of the Museum is to tell the story of partnership that developed between artists and their patrons and collaborations that resulted in important works of art. The TAM honors families who were major patrons: Gerson Gusdorf and Melvin Weimer, Duane Van Vechten and Edwin Lineberry, Eya Fechin, Nelda C. and H.J. Lutcher Stark, and William J. Klauer, among others. The museum also recognizes artists who supported artists, museums, the federal government, the Santa Fe Railway, the media and, of course, the Taos Society of Artists.

Virtually all full and associate members of the Taos Society of Artists are represented in TAM's collection. Bert Geer Phillips was the first of the group to take up year-round residency in Taos in 1898. He opened doors by establishing close relationships between the Native Americans and artists who joined him in succeeding years.  You and your family will get to spend a year getting to know this great treasure. Lucky you!
