Item Description

Of his home in the lovely town of Pointe-au-Pic on the St. Lawrence River, President Taft said, "the air is like drinking Champagne without the hangover." Although his original house burned down in 1950, President Taft started a century-old Taft family tradition of summering in this spot, and now your family may be a part of that tradition. This spacious home nestled in the woods sleeps 9 comfortably, has three working fireplaces and a large front porch with spectacular views both day and night. There are great restaurants and craft shops nearby.  Outdoor activities include whale watching, hiking, kayaking and golf. This historic Manoir Richelieu has restaurants and a casino in town. Located in the picturesque town of Point-au-Pic on the St. Lawrence River, the home is a 15-hour drive from DC, a 5 hour drive from Montreal, or a 2 hour drive from Quebec City.

Item Special Note

Use during June-September 2013 or June-September 2014, but not for a three-week period when used by owner (generally end of July/beginning of August).  Burke Community Members only.
