Item Description
A behind the scenes tour of the Center for Southwest Research and Special Collections with Curator Mike Kelly including tours of the historic tower, the two underground vault floors and locations mentioned in Judith Van Gieson's Claire-Reynier novels (if you're not familiar with Judiths novels her main character works as an archivist at the Center for Southwest Research,) and places that NO ONES knows about. On the tour you will see some of the CSWR's treasures like Tony Hillerman's manuscripts, rare books from the Countess Lucia Batten collection including fore edged painted books, first editions and special one of a kind illustrated books. The tour will take you from the top of the library, an area closed off to the pubic for over 20 years to the three floors beneath the plaza in front of the library. And just maybe along the way we'll see one of those ghosts everyone talks about. Should be a fun time and plan on an hour or two for the tour. Weekends or early evenings on Thursday or Friday is best.
Item Special Note
You may bring up to 5 friends with you and arrange your tour for a mutuallly agreeable time in 2013.
