Sifu Dug Corpolongo’s Lotus Dragon Authentic Chinese Tai Chi, at 3408 Constitution Ave. NE, Albuquerque, is a traditional Chinese Martial Arts school (known as a "kuan" in Chinese). The organization and discipline of traditional Chinese Martial Arts is based on the ancient Confucian household, rather than on a military model like Japanese and Korean martial arts. The Confucian household is rich with traditions of mutual respect, courtesy, and decorum. Your Sifu (teacher) is your Gong fu parent and your classmates are your Gong fu Brothers and Sisters, rather than being your Drill Sergeant and fellow recruits.  As a result, the atmosphere in a traditional Chinese Martial Arts is more relaxed and the students provide their own internal self-discipline, rather than having a rigid regimen imposed on them by the instructor.

You are bidding on a 1-year membership for unlimited classes.  There are 16 classes per week. 

Sifu Dug is a Senior Student and Adopted Disciple of Grandmaster Henry Look.  He has been studying Chinese Martial Arts continously since 1979 and teaching since 1990.  He is certified as a Master Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong Instructor by the United States Martial Arts Association; and the Health Preservation Association of Albany New York. Sifu Dug is also ranked as a senior judge and coach of Internal Martial Arts by several respected International Chinese Martial Arts organizations.  He was inducted into the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2002. Sifu Dug was on the National Executive Board of the United States Amateur Athletic Union/Chinese Martial Arts Division from1999 to 2010 where he served as the National Chairman, Vice Chairman and National Head Coach.  He currently is on the National Executive Board of the US Kuoshu Federation. His professional background also includes positions on the faculty the International Institute of Chinese Medicine, Southwest Acupuncture College, New Mexico Tech, San Juan Community College, New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics and the New England Institute of Buddhist Studies.

Sifu Dug is well known for his skill at describing the intricate and complex theories of Chinese Medicine and Martial Arts. He has a knack for making esoteric knowledge clear and accessible to all. As a teacher of self-defense, he has a wealth of "real world" experience, having spent many years as a nightclub bouncer and police trainer.

This gentle giant of a man is the soul of kindness and patience. He is a wonderful friend, a socially-conscious volunteer and contributor to worthy causes. His free Tai Chi for Seniors program is the longest continuously running program in the nation. His Kuan-wide Yard Sales for the Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina and Haiti earthquake victims benefited his fellow man. He personifies the sentiment of the greeting "Namaste."
