Item Description

Bar Harbor Whale Watch is Maine’s largest boating tour company, featuring several puffin and whale watching tours, lighthouse tours, nature cruises, and more. On Saturday, July 27, 2013 the company is offering a very special "Grand Slam Lighthouse Cruise" on board the 112-foot jet-powered catamaran Friendship V. The cruise will feature the following lighthouses: Bear Island, Bass Harbor Head, Blue Hill Bay, Deer Island Thorofare, Eagle Island, Goose Rocks, Browns Head, Heron Neck, Matinicus Rock, Saddleback, Isle au Haut, Burnt Coat Harbor, Great Duck Island, Baker Island, and Egg Rock. Also seen on the cruise will be puffins, seals, porpoise and other wildlife; the Little Cranberry Life Saving Station, coastal mansions, Acadia National Park, Penobscot Bay, Vinalhaven Island, and much more. The cruise will be narrated by guest historian Jeremy D'Entremont, the author of more than ten books including The Lighthouse Handbook: New England, The Lighthouses of Maine, and Great Shipwrecks of the Maine Coast.

The winner of this auction item receives two tickets for the Grand Slam Lighthouse Tour, which will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 27, 2013. A boxed lunch is included. The cruise departs from Harbor Place, 1 West Street in Bar Harbor.
