The Division of Birds at the National Museum of Natural History houses one of the largest collections of birds in the world. More than 620,000 birds representing more than 85% of the world's avifauna are stored here. This tour will highlight iconic extinct specimens such as Passenger Pigeons and Ivory Woodpeckers, and will demonstrate how experts use the collections to identify birds from single feathers!
