Item Description
This beautiful, mounted/matted painting is a numbered (058/180), limited edition from well-known Israeli artist, Moshe Yair. "Shabbat Kodesh/Kabalat Shabbat" shows a woman lighting the Shabbat candles. Her figure and the challot are highlighted and encircled by Yair's micro calligraphy for which he is famous. The picture with mat measures approximately 9.25" x 7.25".
Moshe was 30 years old when he began painting as only a hobby. He remembers his grandmother writing psalms in very tiny letters which gave Moshe the inspiration to begin his micro calligraphy art. Moshe then opened Yair Gallery in the old city artist gallery in Tsfat Israel.
