Item Description
Navajo wedding baskets are traditionally viewed as a map to chart the rest of their lives. The Sipapu (represented by the central spot) shows the Navajo people's emergence from the past world. Life's journey from birth into adulthood is represented by the inner white coils to the outer red coils (red subsequently signifies the union and family).
This collection of two yarn woven baskets measure 9" x 3" each and are ideal for wall display. They were woven by Annie Ramone, a UNM alumna '69 and fan of the Singing Wire.
Item Special Note
After the auction closes, items will be shipped to the winning bidder and actual shipping charges (including insurance) will be added to the total bid, unless bidder chooses pickup options listed in your winning bid confirmation at the close of the auction.
