Item Description

Experience a 90-minute traditional Osteopathic Manual Therapy session with Kathleen Brannan Brown.  This session will include a thorough Osteopathic assessment, evaluation and intervention.

Osteopathic Manual Therapy is a form of manual therapy developed by preventive medicine pioneer Andrew T. Still.  It is designed to employ gentle pressures and body positionings to encourage the body to realign to its naturally held state of equilibrium. The hands-on therapy not only works with the framework of the body - bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia- it also works with the internal organs to aid your general health.

The goal of OMT is to relieve pain, improve mobility and to support and stimulate the body's ability to heal itself.

A veteran of the medical field for almost 20 years, Kathleen began her career as a Registered Nurse at Harbour-UCLA Medical Center's Trauma Center in 1994. Since then, she has worked at several hospital emergency departments over the last 18 years witnessing many levels of pain and disease that are - in essence - difficult to effectively treat with conventional allopathic medicine.

In 2000, Kathleen attended UCLA where she graduated with a masters in nursing as a Nurse Practitioner. With this new title, she pursued alternative/holistic medical modalities. This new pathway allowed her to follow many other beneficial healing methods that have shown to be incredibly successful for countless individuals with varied sources of pain and discomfort. Exposure to and practice with these methods (hypnotherapy, IV detoxification, neural therapy and osteopathic manual therapy - to name a few) inspired her to pursue further training beyond her Nurse Practitioner education.

Specifically, it is her osteopathic manual therapy education at the Canadian College of Osteopathy and her neural therapy training with Dr Dietrich Klinghardt which has given her access to therapies that profoundly and positively affect the health of her clients. She revels in her clients reclaim of wellness by helping those who have been left behind in pain, feel reliant on medications or believe their only option is continued discomfort. It gives her great joy and satisfaction to see her clients feel more vital, experience improved day to day mobility and sense overall reduction of pain.

Although Kathleen does not utilize her registered nursing or nurse practitioner licenses in this practice, this depth of medical experience helps to bring clarity to her somatic and alternative healing modalities.

With her family's recent move to Sonoma County, Kathleen feels right at home with the wonderful access to farm fresh food, the beautiful outdoors and the family-friendly surroundings.
