Item Description

Introduce your child to the joys of sailing with the Gold Country Yacht Club's 2013 Summer Adventure Program, held at Scott's Flat Lake.  This item is valid for the second session, held July 8 - 12, 2013, on the water 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Children must be age 8 - 12.

Class size is limited to 12 students. Students will learn the skills necessary to care for and sail the club's Sunfish sailboats single-handed. This class is taught by certified US Sailing Small Boat Instructors with American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certificates.

A Youth Sailing Program was added as one of the many club activities during the spring of 1997. This program is designed to instruct young sailing enthusiasts about seamanship, safety and the joys of sailing.
GCYC's certified US Sailing instructors put the young mariners through their paces and give them the skills necessary to safely handle a small sailboat. Graduates have to opportunity to advance their skills by moving up to the club's fleet of larger FJ (Flying Junior) sloops.
