Item Description
This ceramic cone is part of the "Atmosphere" sculpture collection made here in Albuquerque by renowned ceramic artist, Don Jones. The piece features hand-thrown and cast ceramic and a hand-painted muli-blue skyline, reminescent of New Mexico's own vast skies. A gradual ombre begins with a periwinkle blue on the top of the sculpture to a light robin egg blue on the bottom. Other ceramic pieces from the "Atmosphere" collection have been shown in the American Museum of Ceramic Arts. It sits on a lucite stand. Measures 6" x 13" x 6"
Don Jones is a ceramic artists whose pieces have shown around the country and particularly the Museum of Ceramic Arts. The "Atmosphere" collection in particular was created during his 15 year stay here in New Mexico and was featured in the Ceramics Monthly Magazine.
