Item Description
Holly's Kindergarteners are hard at work finishing their masterpiece, but gave us a sneak peak of their progress!
This Bear Treasure Chest was created by Crew 4, Holly Davatz's Kindergarten class, and inspired by their Bear expedition. The chest measures 18 x 12 x 12 inches.
Crew 4 (Kindergarten) has been studying Bears this semester, and did a case study on "A Year in the Life of a Bear," where students illustrated a calendar and made a scene for each month of the year. The students in Crew 4--The Flying Comets--have taken the project from their case study and, as a crew, selected four scenes from our Bear Calendar. The four seasons are represented on the four sides of the chest. The top of the chest has a Flying Comet--their crew-selected mascot name.
Thank you to Chelsea Sullivan for her creative input, Susanne Mitchell for her tutorial in how to Mod Podge, and Jessica Jackson for the spray paint. A special "thank you" to Rocky Wirtz, Megan Hood, and Saralyn Crossen for donating money toward the purchase of the Chest in natural form.
